See your match score & applyThe Programme Management Officer will coordinate the implementation of the Innovative Finance for the Amazon, Cerrado and Chaco (IFACC) initiative, focusing on sustainable finance and agricultural transition finance. The role involves project monitoring, donor engagement, reporting, and collaboration with partners to advance sustainable land use and unlock catalytic capital.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all actions required for effective implementation of the IFACC initiative including monitoring project implementation, preparing and reviewing documents, recruitment of experts, procurement follow-up, and reporting.
- Lead activities for which UNEP is responsible in the IFACC initiative, including coordination of catalytic capital and agricultural transition finance activities, internal coordination of UNEP personnel, travel for stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with partners.
- Engage with donors of the IFACC initiative to keep them updated on delivery, challenges, and achievements; ensure timely substantive and financial reporting.
- Liaise with other projects executed by the Climate Finance Unit and broader divisions to seek and implement synergies.
- Manage potential geographic expansion of IFACC to Sub-Saharan Africa and/or South East Asia by recruiting experts, liaising with partners and donors, and assessing expansion feasibility.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through data visualization methods to support planning, decision-making, presentation, and reporting.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in sustainable finance, economics, business analytics, environment or agricultural economics; or disciplines in quantitative fields (e.g. sciences, mathematics), or related area is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two years qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in sustainable finance, sustainable agricultural supply chains, private sector engagement, or project management (or a combination thereof), with at least two (2) years at the international level is required.
- Experience working with or within private finance institutions is required.
- Experience engaging with corporates in the agricultural supply chain and with United Nations entities is desirable.
- Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
- English language proficiency at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
