See your match score & applyThe Implementation Coordinator will provide technical expertise and guidance on the implementation of the Methane Alert and Response System (MARS), contributing to scaling up the system and coordinating activities between technical teams. The role supports IMEO’s work including strategy development, government engagement, partner coordination, and delivery of priority initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted guidance on the coordination of MARS, liaising between its technical and engagement components to keep workstreams aligned and delivery on track.
- Analyse system data and develop compelling narratives illustrating system growth and barriers to implementation.
- Track progress on MARS-related initiatives and milestones internally, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Identify and help address challenges in implementation through effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project outcomes and achievements.
- Coordinate with external partners on MARS implementation.
- Develop and deliver a concept and design for a technical support system for MARS focal points and operators.
- Coordinate a pilot phase to test the support system approach and report on pilot results.
- Support refinement and scaling of the support system based on pilot outcomes.
- Provide technical inputs for country deep-dive analyses and lead presentation of these analyses.
- Lay out and document processes and review outputs for quality and consistency.
- Provide technical feedback on response-rate data for accuracy and consistency.
- Provide technical assessment for new mitigation cases and compile information for external partners.
- Draft reporting to external partners and maintain MARS reporting schedules.
- Draft and issue notifications to government and company stakeholders on major methane emission events.
- Prepare rapid alerts for coal and waste sectors and issue notifications for uncovered countries.
- Deliver input to developers regarding automation of notification reports.
- Track feedback submitted by government and OGMP companies and support feedback-tracking process consistency.
- Support continuous improvement of feedback-tracking process and coordinate internal review calls.
- Provide inputs to streamline and standardize key MARS processes and templates.
- Review and update the MARS FAQ and coordinate required changes.
- Maintain internal tracking systems for data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Develop engaging content for stakeholder communications, reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Masters or Equivalent in law, political science, environmental studies, sustainability, environmental or climate policy or a related field.
- A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in environmental, climate or methane policy, or a related field is required.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
