The consultant will support the Sustainable Mobility Unit in project management and delivery of outputs related to the Used EVs and Battery end-of-Life Programme, including event management, report finalization, workshop organization, grant process development, policy project finalization, and representation in webinars.

Responsibilities

  • Submit a work plan and quarterly report of advancements in project management support for the Used EVs and Battery end-of-life Programme.
  • Support update, event management plan and meeting agenda for the virtual launch event and first in-person event of the Global Partnership on EV Battery Circularity.
  • Finalize and publish reports on Used EVs import standards, Regulatory Toolbox for Used EVs and Battery end-of-Life, and EV Battery Chemical Impact report, including reviewed versions.
  • Develop agenda and secure speakers for three workshops through regional platforms of the Global Electric Mobility Programme and two subregional meetings on battery end-of-Life at EAC and ECOWAS.
  • Develop implementation plan, project tender outline and selection criteria for four competitive grant processes for battery end-of-life projects in Africa, Asia Pacific, EEWACA, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Review and improve project proposals for GEF9 E-mobility projects in two countries.
  • Finalize battery end of life policy development projects in Cameroon, Morocco and Ethiopia, submitting reviewed versions.
  • Represent the Sustainable Mobility Unit in at least one webinar related to battery end-of-Life.
  • Review at least two policy and project outputs from e-mobility projects with battery end-of-life components.

Requirements

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental management, transport, engineering, international development or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in project management is required.
  • Proven experience in analytical, presentation, and communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge on sustainable mobility is required; knowledge on Circularity or EV Battery end-of-Life is desirable.
  • Experience in stakeholder management is desirable.
  • Experience in data collection and research is desirable.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
