CCAC Programme Specialist

The CCAC Programme Specialist will provide specialist support for the management of CCAC programmes, projects or workstreams to ensure that they deliver high-quality results aligned with CCAC priorities and government and partner needs. The selected candidate will coordinate stakeholders, prepare and quality-assure substantive products, monitor delivery and risks, and connect the assigned portfolio with relevant functions and expertise across the Secretariat.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice to plan, manage and deliver assigned CCAC programmes, projects, workstreams or partnership activities.
• Develop and maintain clear workplans, schedules, scopes, budgets, implementation arrangements, risk registers and other management tools.
• Coordinate governments, partner organisations, implementers, experts and internal contributors to ensure timely and coherent delivery.
• Prepare high-quality strategies, project documents, proposals, briefings, presentations, correspondence and decision papers.
• Review and quality-assure project, technical, policy, communication or knowledge outputs and ensure alignment with agreed objectives and standards.
• Monitor progress, results, risks and lessons; maintain complete documentation; and prepare concise internal, governance, partner or donor reporting.
• Organise and facilitate meetings, workshops and consultations and represent the CCAC in external engagements within the assigned portfolio.
• Connect delivery across relevant Secretariat functions and help mobilize the expertise and contributions needed for shared priorities.
• Improve systems, guidance and ways of working and provide practical advice to colleagues and partners within the consultant's area of responsibility.
• Provide ad hoc support as part of the CCAC Secretariat team.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental science, engineering, international relations, public policy, development studies, programme or project management, communications, or another field relevant to the assignment is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct professional experience in climate change and air pollution, is required.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), also referred to as super pollutants, including their links to climate change, air pollution and sustainable development, is required.
• Experience working in multi-stakeholder partnerships and coordinating with different organisations or stakeholder groups is required.
• Experience preparing clear written products, maintaining programme information and supporting the delivery of multiple concurrent activities is required.
• Experience working in an international or developing-country context is desirable.
• Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.
• Additional knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
