CCAC Associate Programme Specialist

The CCAC Associate Programme Specialist will provide well-organised and substantive support to assigned CCAC portfolios, helping turn agreed priorities into timely outputs, effective partner engagement, accurate information and coordinated follow-up. The consultant will work under substantive guidance while taking ownership of defined tasks and contributing to cross-functional delivery across the Secretariat.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of assigned CCAC projects, workstreams and partnership activities.
• Conduct research and prepare concise draft briefings, presentations, correspondence, meeting materials and other substantive products.
• Maintain accurate workplans, trackers, databases, document repositories and records of decisions and follow-up actions.
• Support the organisation and follow-up of meetings, workshops, consultations and partner engagements.
• Coordinate routine information flows and follow-up with governments, implementing partners, experts and other stakeholders.
• Support monitoring of progress, risks, deliverables and results, including initial review and quality assurance of outputs.
• Help connect assigned work with relevant country, sector, science, funding, governance, monitoring, communications and partnership activities.
• Contribute to knowledge management, process improvement and consistent ways of working across the Secretariat.
• Communicate progress, emerging issues and proposed next steps clearly and promptly to relevant colleagues.
• Provide ad hoc support as part of the CCAC Secretariat team.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental science, engineering, international relations, public policy, development studies, programme or project management, communications, or another field relevant to the assignment is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct professional experience in climate change and air pollution, is required.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), also referred to as super pollutants, including their links to climate change, air pollution and sustainable development, is required.
• Experience working in multi-stakeholder partnerships and coordinating with different organisations or stakeholder groups is required.
• Experience preparing clear written products, maintaining programme information and supporting the delivery of multiple concurrent activities is required.
• Experience working in an international or developing-country context is desirable.
• Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.
• Additional knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
