The consultant will support the AMCEN Secretariat to carry out its mandate efficiently by providing programme coordination, technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, and support for the implementation of AMCEN decisions and initiatives. The role includes preparation, coordination, and follow-up of AMCEN activities such as ministerial sessions and Bureau meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Inception report and work plan within 2 weeks of start.
  • Draft technical documents (briefs, reports, policy notes).
  • Prepare meeting documentation (agendas, summaries, outcomes).
  • Prepare monthly progress reports.
  • Prepare the Final report summarizing outputs and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Law / Economics/ International Relations /Engineering or related fields is required.
  • A first level university degree in combination with an additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, or data science programs is desirable.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in environmental policy development and associated natural resource and ecosystem management is required.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of French is an asset.
