The role involves coordinating with various partners, supporting implementation of sustainable commodity and landscape management activities, and ensuring compliance with UNDP standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration and inclusive stakeholder engagement at national and subnational levels for the FOLUR Project across all commodities and target jurisdictions.
- Provide input to the National Project Manager on strategic approach to stakeholder engagement with governmental and non-governmental partners.
- Execute and implement multi-stakeholder collaboration and stakeholder engagement plan.
- Organize and facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration dialogues in accordance with jurisdictional approach and integrated landscape management principles.
- Coordinate with Private Sector Engagement Specialist to engage private sector coalitions and develop new partnerships.
- Represent the project on landscape and commodity-level platforms advocating for public-private-community partnerships.
- Provide strategic guidance in developing clear messaging for project stakeholders.
- Strengthen partnerships with national, regional and international institutions and expert groups.
- Increase cooperation with key national and subnational FOLUR stakeholders and build their capacities.
- Visit project sites to build relationships and understand contexts.
- Co-lead learning sessions with National Project Manager to surface best practices and lessons learnt.
- Manage implementation of activities related to coffee, rice, cocoa and palm oil commodities to achieve project outputs.
- Support implementation, coordination, engagement and monitoring of landscape level project activities.
- Ensure coordination with existing multistakeholder platforms.
- Work closely with partners including Ministry of Agriculture and UNDP/FAO Country Office focal points.
- Support drafting of ToRs for expert consultants, meetings and workshops.
- Identify critical issues, troubleshoot problems and develop solutions for landscape activities implementation.
- Support effective monitoring of commodity related implementation work streams.
- Prepare high quality progress reports for UNDP Country Office.
- Provide inputs and data for external project reports.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP Social and Environmental safeguards.
- Provide technical advisory services on grading for value additions of oil palm.
- Provide technical and strategic advisory support for priority locations and capacity building of extension services and smallholder farmers.
- Generate knowledge products such as best practices and lessons learnt for knowledge sharing.
- Participate in training and technical discussions organized by Global FOLUR or others.
- Lead coordination, implementation and oversight of Low-Value Grant Agreements to foster local partnerships and ensure impactful grant delivery.
- Coordinate identification, assessment and engagement of LVGA partners including CBOs, NGOs, producer groups, academic institutions and local organizations.
- Lead stakeholder consultations and outreach related to LVGA implementation.
- Monitor grant implementation progress and evaluate partner performance.
- Facilitate communication, learning networks and knowledge exchange among LVGA partners.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP requirements, environmental and social safeguards, gender and social inclusion considerations.
- Consolidate lessons learned and good practices from LVGA-supported initiatives for knowledge management and reporting.
- Ensure human rights and gender equality are prioritized and activities are inclusive and accessible.
- Introduce necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within committees, meetings and trainings.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, Forestry, Social and Political Sciences, or related fields, is required or a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the same fields with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
- Minimum 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in sustainable agriculture, environment and/or natural resource management, and climate change.
- Experience in writing reports, summarizing papers, and delivering presentations to international and national audiences.
- Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
- At least 1 year of experience on sustainable coffee, rice, cocoa, or palm oil issues including social and environmental issues at the global and national level.
- Experience liaising, coordinating and working with NGOs, private sector and government entities, private sector and/or smallholders.
- Experience in organizing and facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings and workshops.
- Experience in implementation of projects with components on sustainable development, green commodities, climate smart agriculture, environmental policy, environmental management, climate mitigation or project management.
- Experience in managing/coordinating development projects or providing technical expertise at UNDP and/or other UN agencies.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
