The Security Guard provides reliable and safe security services to the UNDP/PAPP Security Unit ensuring the highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The role involves maintaining security arrangements, assisting staff and visitors, and supporting the Security Analyst in various security-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all UNDP/PAPP security arrangements are in place including mail registration, visitor searches, patrolling, and registry of activities.
  • Ensure all security arrangements are in place in case of emergency including radio checks, vehicle inspections, and communication with Security Analyst.
  • Provide assistance to all staff and visitors including greeting, directing, and implementing access procedures.
  • Assist the Security Analyst in all related security requirements and replace the Security Analyst in his absence if required.
  • Operate the centralized telephone system and maintain official lists, assist staff with calls, and forward incoming calls.
  • Perform other duties within functional profile as necessary for efficient functioning of the Office and Organization.

Requirements

  • High School certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in security-related positions.
  • Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge in the English Language.
  • Working knowledge in Hebrew Language is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to manage the security system including CCTV, access control and fire-alarm system.
  • Holding a driver’s license that permits driving in Jerusalem is an asset.
  • Proven work experience as a Security Guard with an international organization or Embassy is an asset.
  • Previous experience with technical protection equipment, radio and other telecommunication equipment is an asset.
  • Relevant training and professional accreditation in the security field is an asset.
