Security Guard

The Security Guard provides reliable and safe security services to ensure the physical integrity and safety of the UN House premises, its property, and inhabitants. The role involves enforcing access control, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to emergencies, and maintaining detailed security reports under the guidance of the UNDP National Security Officer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the physical integrity and safety of the UN House, its property, main building, and territory
• Monitor the overall situation around the UN House by staying on security posts
• Monitor surveillance cameras and other safety and security equipment
• Perform night shift security monitoring by patrolling premises and building sections
• Enforce access control procedures for UN personnel, visitors, service providers, and vehicles
• Guard access points by permitting or refusing entry and restraining trespassers
• Prevent entrance of persons bearing weapons, explosives, hazardous liquids, or prohibited items
• Search vehicles authorized to enter the internal parking lot with specialized equipment
• Maintain records of vehicle entry and exit logbook
• Interact politely and attentively with visitors and answer phone calls
• Verify and record visitor identity in the registry book
• Receive incoming mail and parcels with safety measures, examining packages when necessary
• React immediately and appropriately to emergencies to minimize impact on life and property
• Control and monitor fire/security alarm equipment and act according to instructions
• Conduct building evacuation in case of fire/bomb threat
• Inform UNDP National Security Officer and UNDSS LSAs of emergencies and security incidents
• Report and communicate security-related information and incidents
• Control and log movements of UN property into and out of common premises
• Maintain detailed records of daily observations and write incident reports
• Submit daily guard’s report with log information to the UNDP National Security Officer
• Take actions to protect UN personnel, property, and assets and remain highly visible as a deterrent
• Coordinate with local police and UNDP National Security Officer on security matters
• Inspect the office after working hours to ensure all rooms are secured and utilities are off
• Be punctual, follow duty shifts, and work collaboratively with co-workers
• Perform other duties as required by the direct supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree OR High School certificate with 3 years of experience
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in security and safety, police, or military service
• Ability to manage stressful situations
• Fluency in Russian
• Basic knowledge of English
• Knowledge of Kyrgyz is an asset
• Basic computer skills
• Relevant professional qualifications, certifications, or specialized training in security
• Certificates on security trainings
• Previous work experience with the United Nations, international organizations, governmental institutions, NGOs, or other relevant organizations is desirable
