SDG Finance and Private Sector Development Research Intern (Home Based)

The intern will contribute to UNDP's efforts in SDG financing and impact investing by providing research, writing, and editing support on related issues and knowledge products. The role includes supporting publication of knowledge stories, contributing to project design and implementation, preparing communication materials, and offering administrative support.

Responsibilities

• Provide research, writing and editing support on issues related to impact investing and SDG financing.
• Support publishing knowledge stories and best practices on impact investing and SDG financing.
• Contribute to designing and implementation of initiatives, projects or programmes.
• Provide administrative support on an as-needed basis.
• Prepare relevant communications materials such as speeches, brochures, success stories, social media materials.
• Collaborate on the development and execution of online content and campaigns across various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.
• Perform other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme or in the final academic year of a first university degree programme or have recently graduated with a university degree and start the internship within one year of graduation or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
• Experience in academic writing, research, and analysis on sustainable development and impact investing.
• Knowledge of SDG Finance and Private Sector Development is an asset.
• Knowledge of the OIC countries is desirable.
• Computer literate in standard software applications.
• Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the UN and UNDP and commitment to UNDP's Statement of Purpose and the ideals of the UN Charter.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
• Previous experience on economics and finance research, preferably with a perspective on SDG Finance and Private Sector Development is an asset.
• Previous experience on project designing and implementation is an asset.
• Social media account management and content development skills are desirable.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
• Knowledge of French and Arabic is desired.
• Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
