The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The role supports operational transport needs including driving office vehicles, managing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and security regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive office vehicle for transport of authorized personnel; delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
  • Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport, assist with visa and customs formalities when required.
  • Support office related transportations such as equipment, furniture, and office relocation.
  • Manage and maintain office vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs; ensure vehicle cleanliness and check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing etc.
  • Ensure steps required by UNDP rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident.
  • Maintain inventory of vehicle equipment and security/communication equipment (VHF radios).
  • Follow up and ensure all security rules and regulations are implemented.
  • Advance notify scheduled trips for obtaining relevant security clearance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Secondary Education;
  • Valid Driver’s license;
  • 2 years' work experience as a professional driver;
  • Safe driving record;
  • Demonstrates integrity by modelling the UN’s values and ethical standards;
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
  • Treats all people fairly without favoritism;
  • Fulfils all obligations to gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment;
  • Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication and diplomatic skills, ability to work in a team;
  • Openness to change and ability to receive/integrate feedback
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair (desirable);
  • Experience in reliable and secure driving (desirable);
  • Previous working experience in UN, International Organization or Embassy is desirable;
  • Fluency in any of local languages (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) , basic knowledge of English language
