This internship offers participants a professional immersion within UNDP operations in Djibouti, contributing to key office activities including communication, program management, and IT support. The internship aims to strengthen academic experience through direct practice and deepen understanding of UNDP's development objectives in Djibouti.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to creation and production of printed and digital communication materials such as brochures, reports, newsletters, and social media publications.
  • Produce dynamic visual content for social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Prepare visuals, retouch photos, and assist in producing short videos illustrating UNDP actions.
  • Support photo/video coverage during workshops, conferences, and field visits.
  • Design online/offline materials for awareness campaigns and public advocacy.
  • Maintain UNDP Djibouti's website and social media platforms.
  • Assist in preparing concept notes, presentations, and donor profiles for partnerships and resource mobilization.
  • Help draft communications to partners, update contact databases, and follow up on meetings.
  • Participate in creation and dissemination of reports, case studies, success stories, and other knowledge products.
  • Prepare documents, format reports, proposals, and presentations in compliance with UNDP standards.
  • Provide logistical support for workshops, meetings, and trainings including coordination and participant management.
  • Support administrative tasks such as printing, document distribution, and filing.
  • Draft internal and external communications including emails and newsletters.
  • Collect and compile data, best practices, and success stories; assist in creating infographics.
  • Collaborate with different units and contribute to knowledge products.
  • Provide operational IT support including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Assist users with technical issues and participate in system testing and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and performance reports.
  • Maintain IT asset registers and manage IT inventory.
  • Support external service providers during interventions.
  • Participate in internal trainings, share knowledge, and propose improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and communicate effectively with users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a second cycle (Master's or higher) program in communication, economic development, environmental studies, or IT, or be in the final year of a first cycle university program (Bachelor's or equivalent).
  • Recent graduates from the above programs starting the internship within one year of graduation are eligible.
  • Candidates enrolled in a post-university professional program including an internship are eligible.
  • Proficiency in French is required.
  • Knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to contribute to communication, program management, and IT support tasks.
