See your match score & applyThe HR Associate provides leadership in execution of the full range of Country Office HR services ensuring transparency and integrity. The role promotes a collaborative, client-oriented approach and supports staff morale, working closely with operations, programme teams, and UNDP Headquarters on complex HR issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure administration and implementation of HR strategies and policies, adapting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with UN rules and UNDP policies.
- Provide advice and information on corporate strategies, personnel rules, contractual modalities, entitlements, and change management processes.
- Organize recruitment processes including drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, and participating in interview panels.
- Coordinate with GSSC on contract preparation and salary negotiations; follow up on payroll issues.
- Monitor and track HR transactions related to positions, recruitment, benefits, earnings/deductions, and separations.
- Maintain the Country Office staffing table and administer delegated international staff entitlements and position funding.
- Facilitate staff performance management and career development, including performance appraisals and learning plans.
- Conduct salary and hardship surveys and participate in Local Salary Survey Committee work.
- Organize training on HR issues for operations and project staff; synthesize lessons learned and best practices; contribute to knowledge networks and conduct orientation for new staff.
- Perform other duties as necessary for efficient functioning of the Office and Organization.
Requirements
- Secondary Education is required.
- University Degree (bachelor´s degree) in HR, Business, or Public Administration will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
- Minimum 7 years (with Secondary Education) or 4 years (with bachelor´s degree) of progressively responsible HR and/or administrative experience is required at the national or international level.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and experience in handling web-based management systems.
- Experience with recruitment processes.
- Experience with administration of HR processes such as performance management, learning and development, salaries and benefits.
- Experience in UN or UNDP’s HR rules, policies and procedures is desired.
- Experience with managing recruitments at National & International level is desired.
- Experience with informing and advising on integrity and ethics is desired.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of local languages Fiji Hindi or iTaukei will be considered as desired.
- Professional HR certification(s) is an advantage.
