See your match score & applyThe Gender Justice Project Analyst will support the implementation, coordination, and delivery of regional gender justice initiatives, focusing on the Asia-Pacific Women Judges Network (APWJN) and women's leadership in the judiciary across Asia and the Pacific. The role involves programme management, technical support, knowledge management, and partnership building to advance gender-responsive justice systems and women's leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day implementation and coordination of regional gender justice initiatives, ensuring the effective delivery of programme activities, outputs and results.
- Manage the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Women Judges Network (APWJN) and related initiatives on women's leadership in the judiciary.
- Develop annual and quarterly workplans, implementation schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and risk management measures to support project delivery.
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of regional and national activities, including judicial leadership colloquiums, consultations, peer-learning exchanges, leadership development programmes, mentoring initiatives, and regional convenings.
- Monitor implementation progress, identify bottlenecks, propose corrective actions, and ensure timely achievement of project milestones and targets.
- Support the generation, application and dissemination of knowledge and evidence to strengthen gender-responsive justice systems and women's leadership in the judiciary.
- Support the development of research, policy analysis, guidance notes, knowledge products and practical tools on gender justice and women's representation and leadership in the judiciary.
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of data, evidence, lessons learned and good practices from regional and country-level initiatives to inform programme design and policy development.
- Contribute to the development of policy initiatives and technical guidance on emerging gender justice issues in collaboration with country offices, regional teams and external partners.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities related to gender justice and women's judicial leadership and support the translation of evidence into actionable recommendations.
- Strengthen programme performance, accountability, visibility and learning across the regional gender justice portfolio.
- Prepare donor reports, progress reports, briefing notes, presentations, concept papers and management updates.
- Develop and maintain knowledge management systems to document lessons learned, innovations, good practices and success stories.
- Support implementation of communication and visibility activities to promote APWJN and UNDP's gender justice work through publications, events, digital platforms and social media.
- Facilitate regional knowledge exchange and learning among Country Offices, judicial institutions and partners.
- Strengthen strategic partnerships and support resource mobilization efforts to advance gender justice and women's leadership in the judiciary across Asia and the Pacific.
- Serve as the regional coordination focal point for APWJN and maintain regular engagement with judicial institutions, judicial training academies, women judges' associations, Country Offices, development partners and other stakeholders.
- Foster partnerships with UN entities, regional organizations, academic institutions, civil society organizations and professional networks to advance programme objectives.
- Support the organization and coordination of steering committees, advisory group meetings, technical consultations and partnership forums.
- Support senior management engagement with donors and strategic partners to strengthen programme sustainability and expand the regional gender justice portfolio.
- Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.
Requirements
- An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Law, Gender, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, other Social Sciences or related disciplines is required.
- Or a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience on programme support and coordination preferably in the area of access to justice, rule of law, human rights or related fields.
- Experience in successfully designing, planning and managing the implementation of multi country or regional initiatives including cross-country knowledge exchange activities and workshops involving multiple countries.
- Experience in leading or facilitating judicial knowledge exchanges, with a track record of successful exchanges, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Experience in planning, coordinating and executing high-profile events, workshops, and forums at both country and regional levels.
- Experience working on rule of law, justice, or gender equality programming.
- Experience in mainstreaming gender equality within international development projects.
- Experience working in the in Asia and/or Pacific region.
- Prior UN or international experience.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral is required.
- Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
