The Coordinator will support the planning and monitoring of implementation of actions related to the socio-educational system, collaborating closely with CNJ and UNDP teams. The role focuses on strategic actions to guarantee rights of adolescents under socio-educational measures and strengthening judicial and socio-educational systems in Brazil.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Technical Coordinator of Axis 2 in planning and monitoring implementation of actions under this axis.
  • Collaborate closely with CNJ and UNDP teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of outputs.
  • Provide technical advice and support for the management of project activities related to Axis 2.
  • Prepare technical inputs for monitoring reports on Axis 2 implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance for contracted consultancies within Axis 2, including drafting terms of reference.
  • Prepare necessary documents for implementation of Axis 2 activities.
  • Monitor execution of consultancies and contracts to ensure compliance with agreed targets and schedules.
  • Conduct missions, meetings and other activities related to action plan execution and technical monitoring of Axis 2 deliverables.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the designated supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Law, Public Management, Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy or related fields is required.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree combined with 2 years of additional qualified experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • Candidates with an advanced degree do not require professional experience.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree must have at least 2 years of professional and/or academic experience in Justice, Human Rights, Prison/Penal System, Public Management or related areas.
  • Postgraduate diploma (Lato or Stricto Sensu) is desirable.
  • Experience in Justice, Human Rights, Juvenile Justice System/Socio-educational System, Public Management or related areas is desirable.
  • Experience working with public sector partners, especially Judiciary, is desirable.
  • Experience in project or public policy coordination/management is desirable.
  • Experience with childhood and youth policies; prevention and combat of torture; presentation and concentrated hearings; projects to overcome overcrowding in socio-educational units is desirable.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is required.
  • Basic level of English is desirable.
