The position supports the design and management of trust initiatives in prioritized territories, focusing on the social productive area. The role involves assisting in project formulation, coordination, monitoring, and knowledge sharing to strengthen institutional capacities and promote intercultural territorial development for the Mapuche people.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and collaborate in the design of trust initiatives with support from UNDP technical team and coordination with communities, ancestral authorities and Regional Government.
  • Support formulation of projects with intercultural, territorial, collective and gender focus guided by UNDP technical team.
  • Collaborate in coordination with UNDP, Regional Government and territorial managers for implementation of initiatives.
  • Support monitoring of initiative progress, document results and provide feedback for planning.
  • Participate in technical meetings, workshops and coordination spaces of the project.
  • Prepare progress and closure reports for each initiative.
  • Participate in training on internal procedures and support organization of capacity building activities as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of project data, field activities, case studies, human interest stories, photographs and other relevant documents for knowledge exchange and promotion.
  • Perform other functions within professional profile as necessary for project, office and organization functioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School certificate with 3 years of experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in design/formulation and management of public projects at subnational level (municipalities or regional governments).
  • Experience in training and knowledge transfer.
  • Experience in intercultural development projects.
  • Experience with remote work tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, cloud storage, and collaborative work tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Outlook email and its functionalities.
  • Desirable: Additional years of experience beyond minimum required.
  • Desirable: Degree or professional title in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Engineering or equivalents.
  • Desirable: Specialization in project design, public policies and/or public works, planning, productive promotion, social programs.
  • Desirable: Experience designing projects for public funds.
  • Desirable: Experience managing and monitoring project portfolios.
  • Desirable: Experience with strategies, plans, policies, budget processes and regional public programs.
  • Desirable: Experience in project development and execution, budgeting, dialogue, and participation facilitation.
  • Desirable: Experience managing groups including private sector, public sector and civil society.
  • Desirable: Experience in community participation and engagement with indigenous peoples, especially the Mapuche.
  • Desirable: Experience working in multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Fluency in Spanish required.
  • Basic knowledge and handling of Mapudungún language is desirable.
  • Applicants must provide certificates or similar documents proving experience with the mentioned tools.
