See your match score & applyThe Associate Technical Officer in Gender and Race Equality will support the implementation, monitoring, and management of gender equality promotion actions within the BRA/21/002 project, focusing on the implementation of the Gender Equality Seal Action Plan for Public Institutions at the DPU. The role involves technical management, institutional articulation, study elaboration, knowledge management, and integration of gender and race equality agendas.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, monitoring and management of gender equality promotion actions within the BRA/21/002 project, emphasizing the implementation of the Gender Equality Seal Action Plan for Public Institutions at the DPU.
- Manage technical follow-up of the Action Plan implementation, including elaboration, revision, monitoring, and execution of actions according to the Seal methodology benchmarks.
- Promote implementation of actions from an intersectional perspective, focusing on gender, race and other relevant social inequalities.
- Participate in development, revision and monitoring of technical instruments such as work plans, indicators, monitoring matrices and management reports on the theme.
- Produce technical analyses to support decision-making and continuous improvement of implementation.
- Support technical coordination of governance bodies related to the Seal implementation.
- Organize technical meetings, workshops and other institutional articulation spaces.
- Systematize follow-ups, monitor agreed responsibilities and support execution monitoring.
- Facilitate articulation between different DPU units, UNDP teams and other actors involved in implementation.
- Elaborate studies, diagnostics, technical notes, opinions, methodologies and other technical products related to gender equality and its intersectionality.
- Produce technical inputs to support formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies, programs and projects related to the theme.
- Support elaboration of guiding materials, training content and institutional publications on the theme.
- Systematize evidence, results, good practices and lessons learned from project implementation.
- Elaborate technical reports and knowledge products related to the gender equality agenda.
- Support organization, sharing and dissemination of information, methodologies and knowledge produced within the project.
- Contribute to institutional learning and capacity strengthening of the DPU on the theme.
- Promote integration of gender and race equality perspectives into other initiatives developed within the BRA/21/002 project, aligned with the 2030 Agenda, DPU strategic objectives and UNDP methodological guidelines.
- Act as technical reference on the theme within project teams, supporting collaborative processes and integration among different areas and institutional partners.
- Ensure technical quality of activities and products developed, observing UNDP norms and project objectives.
- Perform other functions within the functional profile necessary for the good functioning of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree - 3 years experience OR High School certificate - 6 years experience
- Minimum 6 years (High School) or 3 years (Higher Education) of professional experience in implementation, technical coordination or monitoring of projects, programs or public policies aimed at promoting gender equality, women's rights and/or human rights.
- Experience in planning and monitoring methodologies and institutional articulation.
- Knowledge specialized in gender equality, intersectionality with race and other social markers, and policies for women.
- Experience in use of information technology and office package.
- Postgraduate lato sensu and/or Master's stricto sensu and/or PhD in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Law, Sociology or related areas from recognized Higher Education Institution (desirable).
- Experience in elaboration of studies, applied research, diagnostics, technical notes, methodologies or publications on gender equality, intersectionality or women's rights (desirable).
- Experience in implementation of institutional action plans related to promotion of gender equality, diversity, inclusion or human rights (desirable).
- Professional experience in Justice System institutions or Federal Public Administration (desirable).
- Experience or technical training in project management, program management or project management methodologies (desirable).
- Fluency in Portuguese required.
- Basic level of English required.
