The position involves leading and developing activities for the implementation of a gender and climate change project in Uruguay, ensuring technical, operational, and strategic execution. The role includes coordination, technical expertise, development of technical products, reporting, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement under the supervision of UNDP and in collaboration with national institutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of project activities including development of deliverables
• Ensure technical quality of all project activities and deliverables and report progress to DINACC, UNDP and the Green Climate Fund Secretariat
• Directly execute dialogue/exchange and capacity building activities with national and territorial actors including civil society and productive associations for mainstreaming gender and climate change in strategic, policy, planning and action processes at national, departmental and local levels
• Identify and map key actors and promote their involvement during project activities
• Lead institutional and sectoral capacity assessments and prepare respective reports
• Prepare training contents and materials and conduct training sessions for selected participants
• Develop content for specific knowledge products on gender and climate change and coordinate with gender and climate finance experts for finance-related products
• Ensure coordination with other institutions aligns with the project governance framework and roles of each party
• Provide substantive technical support in building project products, contributing analytical inputs, review, methodological proposals for knowledge production and training processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree - 3 years of experience OR High School certificate - 6 years of experience
• Secondary education complete; university degree in social sciences, humanities, natural resource management or economics is favorable but not required
• Complementary training in climate change, environment, gender, public policies, research, methodology, data and information management
• Relevant work experience in projects linked to public policies, climate change, environmental management and social transformation
• Specific experience in gender and climate change and/or natural resource management, including skills to facilitate workshops, training and capacity building processes
• Experience in climate finance and/or integrating gender and climate change perspectives in financial, budgetary or investment instruments is valued
• Experience in socio-economic and gender diagnostics and analysis in sectors relevant to climate policy is valued
• Excellent writing, advocacy, presentation and communication skills
• Organizational and executive capacity
• Strong analytical and methodological skills for designing, developing and writing technical and knowledge products (evaluations, reports, guides, training materials)
• Ability to organize work, teamwork skills, autonomy, proactivity and flexibility
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken
