The Programme Associate supports the implementation of the Women Make Change Project in Papua New Guinea, providing administrative, financial, and programmatic support to the Programme Team. The role involves assisting with programme management, financial monitoring, logistical arrangements, resource mobilization, and knowledge sharing to promote women's participation and leadership in governance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programmes including preparation of work plans, budgets, proposals, and audit information.
  • Provide administrative support to the financial management of the Programme Unit including budget monitoring, financial reporting, payment processing, and use of Quantum system.
  • Undertake logistical, administrative and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, events, and missions; make travel arrangements; prepare public information materials and presentations; provide guidance and training to Programme Assistants.
  • Provide administrative support to Resource Mobilization including preparation of agreements and follow up on contributions.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by supporting synthesis of lessons learnt and organizing training for office personnel and partners.
  • Perform other duties within functional profile as necessary for efficient functioning of the Office and Organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is desirable.
  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support is required.
  • Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required.
  • Experience in supporting a team is required.
  • Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
