UN Women Moldova seeks a national consultant to provide capacity building on negotiation, mediation and conflict management tailored for women MPs, mayors, executives, peacebuilders, and security and defence sectors. The consultant will develop experiential learning modules and deliver training sessions to strengthen women's leadership and negotiation skills in political and decision-making settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop learning modules/methodology on negotiation techniques, mediation and conflict management, ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices in experiential negotiation training and adult learning.
  • Deliver at least 6 training sessions for up to 20 participants each, as per the developed methodology.
  • Develop and conduct pre- and post-training questionnaires assessing the knowledge of participants.
  • Develop a Final Report on the assignment, summarizing lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for future capacity-building opportunities.
  • Coordinate and provide technical leadership for the delivery of the training.
  • Prepare, consolidate, and submit all required deliverables including learning modules, facilitation guides, training materials, agendas, attendance records, questionnaires with analysis, and final report.
  • Collaborate closely with the UN Women team and report to thematic pillar leads and Project Analyst.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required per expertise and service requests during the contract duration.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Conflict Resolution, Public Administration, Psychology, or other related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Certification in negotiation, mediation or conflict resolution (or accreditation as mediator) is required.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering experiential training programmes on negotiation, mediation and/or conflict management for senior officials, parliamentarians, diplomats or executives is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of simulations, role-plays and case-based methodologies for executive-level audiences is required.
  • Experience in political, institutional or multilateral negotiation settings (e.g. parliaments, governments, EU institutions, international organizations) is an advantage.
  • Experience working with women leaders and sensitivity to gender dimensions of negotiation and conflict, including power asymmetries, is an advantage.
  • Experience working with international organizations, including the UN, is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
  • Knowledge of any other UN official language is an asset.
