See your match score & applyThe internship position is with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. The intern will assist with research, course management, social media activities, and other support tasks within the TrainForTrade Programme under supervision. The internship is full-time, unpaid, and can be performed in-person or remotely.
Responsibilities
- Assist in quantitative and qualitative background research on trade related issues, digital economy, trade statistics, port management.
- Participate in online meetings and webinars with supervisor and/or team.
- Contribute to management of TrainForTrade online courses, including forum moderation, email exchanges with participants, and restitution webinars.
- Prepare short drafts on specific issues including development of charts and graphs.
- Assist with proofreading and editing publications and course material.
- Contribute to social media activities of the programme.
- Draft news for the TrainForTrade website and update the online calendar of activities.
- Support other activities of the Section as required.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- No professional work experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
- Applicants must have a field of study closely related to the internship type.
- Must be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- For remote work, must have full access to a computer with a modern browser and latest Office 365 applications.
- Computer must have latest Microsoft Windows OS, software and security updates installed.
- Enabled built-in software firewall on the computer.
- Enabled password manager for strong passwords and secure access to UNCTAD/UN resources.
- Must provide official proof of education level at a later stage.
- Fluency spoken and written in English, French and Spanish are required.
