See your match score & applyThis internship supports the Justice and Corrections Service (JCS) within the DPPA-DPO Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office. The intern assists with strategic communication, public outreach, content development, and multimedia products related to justice and corrections in peacekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Justice and Corrections Service (JCS) with strategic communication and public outreach related to rule of law, security institutions, justice and corrections in peacekeeping.
- Assist in developing and designing communications and multimedia products for web and social networking platforms.
- Assist in developing content of JCS stories and information to increase awareness and understanding of justice and corrections issues.
- Assist with drafting and editing of JCS publications (e.g. fact sheets, brochures, newsletters and donor-related updates) for internal and external purposes.
- Conceptualize and create data visualizations and interactive content utilizing design and other software.
- Research, compile, and draft information for use in the preparation and production of social media content.
- Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content and web analytics-based platforms (Talkwalker, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights).
- Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
- A field of study closely related to the type of internship applied for is required.
- Applicants must provide proof of enrollment or completion of the relevant degree programme.
- Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
