See your match score & applyThe Programme Management Assistant supports planning, coordination and implementation activities related to the preparation of the Common Country Analysis and other analytical products of the Resident Coordinator's Office in Banjul, The Gambia. The role involves research, data analysis, knowledge management, coordination of consultations, and preparation of reports and communication materials to support decision-making and SDG acceleration efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in support of planning, coordination and implementation activities related to the preparation of the 2026 Common Country Analysis update and other analytical products of the Resident Coordinator's Office.
- Research, compile, analyse, summarize and present quantitative and qualitative information relevant to the Common Country Analysis, Cooperation Framework implementation and other RCO priorities.
- Assist in the collection, organization and review of information from UN entities, government institutions, development partners, academia and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance and updating of evidence matrices, source libraries, reference documentation and other knowledge management tools.
- Support the identification of information gaps and assist in the preparation of summaries, background notes, evidence briefs and other analytical inputs.
- Serve as a focal point for coordination and follow-up of CCA-related consultations, working sessions and inter-agency engagements.
- Assist in the preparation of agendas, briefing materials, background documents and reference packages for consultations, workshops, meetings and other coordination activities.
- Monitor and track comments, inputs, recommendations and follow-up actions arising from consultations and review processes.
- Support the drafting, formatting, review and version control of analytical products, reports, consultation summaries, issue briefs, presentations and other knowledge products.
- Collaborate with programme and coordination colleagues in the preparation of analytical materials and reports to support decision-making, policy dialogue, Cooperation Framework implementation and SDG acceleration efforts.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data, and preparation of data presentations, visualizations, reports and knowledge products.
- Support knowledge management, learning and information-sharing initiatives by organizing documentation, lessons learned, knowledge products and materials.
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, consultation briefs, annotated outlines, talking points and other communication products related to RCO priorities.
- Prepare, maintain and update electronic and paper files, databases, records and other information management systems; generate periodic and ad hoc reports, statistical summaries and background materials.
- Draft correspondence and communications related to coordination, analytical and knowledge management activities, and contribute to periodic reporting requirements of the RCO.
- Support the use of data, analytics, digital tools, innovation and strategic foresight approaches in RCO planning, coordination, reporting and knowledge management activities.
- Provide guidance and support on information management, documentation and knowledge-sharing processes within the team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional certification or training on administration, audit, finance, business administration, programme/project management or a similar area is highly desirable.
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in programmatic/project, administrative and/or technical support or related fields is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to two years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher.
- One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
- Experience with the use of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is desirable.
- Working experience within the United Nations system or a similar international organization is required.
- Experience in organizing activities, systematic follow-up, use of tracking tools, and knowledge of legal, budgeting and financial processes is desirable.
- English language proficiency at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening and speaking is required.
