Under the direct supervision of the Economic Officer, the intern will support data collection, integration, and analysis related to economic, fiscal, financial, and social databases. The role includes contributing to analytical matrices, strategic indicators, and reports to monitor structural trends and SDG-related sector dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Support the collection, integration, cleaning, and validation of economic, fiscal, financial, and social databases.
• Contribute to the construction and updating of analytical matrices, time series, strategic indicators, and reports to monitor structural trends, territorial gaps, and sector dynamics related to the SDGs.
• Prepare advanced visualizations (charts, pivot tables, dashboards, and executive presentations) to facilitate interpretation of results for strategic reports and dialogue with national counterparts.
• Support the systematization and preliminary analysis of information from official sources for inputs on development financing, fiscal sustainability, public and private investment, and SDG financing gaps.
• Provide support in updating data repositories, monitoring tools, and tracking panels linked to the Cooperation Framework and the UNCA process.
• Perform other support functions related to economic analysis and data management assigned within the framework of the Office's strategic priorities.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of an undergraduate university program (bachelor's degree or equivalent minimum).
• Be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Studies in economics or related disciplines are highly desirable for this internship.
• Applicants to the UN Internship Programme do not need professional work experience.
• It is mandatory to have a field of study closely related to the type of internship applied for.
• Applicants must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent), or students of a master's or doctoral program or equivalent, or have completed a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree.
• Applicants must provide official proof of their academic status.
• Applicants should have knowledge in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and data analysis.
• Fluency in oral and written Spanish is required to perform the internship.
• Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
