See your match score & applyThe UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Beijing is seeking a motivated Partnership Intern to support inter-agency coordination and partnership activities. The internship is full-time, unpaid, and lasts six months, focusing on supporting policy dialogues, stakeholder engagement, and analytical reporting related to China's development priorities.
Responsibilities
- Support the organization and coordination of RCO’s major policy dialogues, high-level meetings, workshops, conferences and partnership activities, including logistical arrangements, on-site support, and the preparation of agendas, briefing materials, meeting records, speeches and presentations.
- Support the collection, compilation, statistical analysis, and visualization of information on China’s key policies and development priorities – including on China’s international development cooperation, and contribute to analytical reports, briefing papers, presentations, and other knowledge products.
- Support stakeholder coordination and engagement with UN entities and external partners, including consolidating inputs, preparing background materials, and facilitating communication.
- Support the training activities and high-level UN delegations, including both logistics and substantive support.
- Draft analysis documents on the Host Government’s policy including on international development cooperation, financing for development, as well as humanitarian assistance; in addition to meeting notes and reports.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
- A field of study closely related to the type of internship applied for is required.
- Applicants must be in, or have completed, the final academic year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), be currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Programme.
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills, build strong relationships with clients and work independently are functional competencies.
- Ability to design surveys and draft documents is desirable.
- Candidates for the UN Internship Programme are required to cover the cost of travel, including visa, accommodation, health insurance and other living expenses for the duration of the internship.
- Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required for the internship.
