Intern - Donor Intelligence

This internship supports the development of donor intelligence products, stakeholder coordination, and research related to international security, governance, and development cooperation in Costa Rica. The intern will assist in analytical product preparation, partnership documentation, and monitoring donor funding trends relevant to the UN Country Team.

Responsibilities

• Develop a donor landscape heat map based on available donor intelligence, data and analytical inputs.
• Support stakeholder coordination and information gathering related to the funding environment in Costa Rica.
• Prepare analytical products and presentations to inform engagement with Government counterparts and development partners.
• Assist in the review and drafting of agreements and other partnership-related documentation.
• Conduct research and analysis on regional priorities related to international security, governance and development cooperation.
• Monitor donor funding trends, emerging financing mechanisms and resource mobilization opportunities relevant to the United Nations Country Team in Costa Rica.
• Support research, concept development and partnership engagement related to the establishment of a regional trust fund for security-related programming, subject to organizational priorities and funding availability.
• Provide opportunities for engagement with international law-related research, policy analysis and professional learning opportunities in support of the UPEACE International Law Graduate Programme and the work of the Resident Coordinator's Office.

Requirements

• High School Diploma is the basic education required.
• Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelors degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher).
• Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
• A field of study closely related to the internship is required.
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.
• Desirable experience in Resource Mobilization, research and analysis and partnership development.
• Desirable experience in political and policy analysis.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
• Knowledge of Spanish is required.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
