See your match score & applyThe Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) seeks a motivated and data-savvy intern to support data analysis and visualization capacities to enhance accountability, transparency, and strategic decision-making. The intern will assist in cleaning and organizing data, performing analyses, developing dashboards, and supporting various projects related to sexual exploitation and abuse data coordination.
Responsibilities
- Clean, and organize raw data related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).
- Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including trend analysis, to support OSCSEA's reporting, prevention, and response strategies.
- Develop and improve dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Verint, Excel, and other tools, including web-based tools.
- Draft visual storytelling materials, infographics, and presentations that support decision-making, advocacy and communication strategies.
- Support ongoing projects related to system-wide SEA data coordination and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in analyzing gaps in iReport and in collating recommendations and proposals from users for enhancing data collection and reporting.
- Engage in brainstorming sessions to improve internal data workflows and propose innovation-driven solutions for data use.
- Support analysis, dissemination and presentation of the results of the annual system-wide survey on PSEA.
- Provide general office support services; drafting and/or processing a variety of correspondence and other communications.
- Undertake other responsibilities, as required.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is desirable.
- Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
- For internships in the United States of America, persons who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 or J1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa.
- The selected person will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and approved employment authorization (CPT/OPT/AT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
