Economics and Data Management Intern

The internship provides an opportunity to learn about the UN system at the country level and contribute to economics and data management work of the Resident Coordinator Office. The intern will support research, data management, reporting, and capacity development activities related to sustainable development and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research and provide inputs to reports and analyses produced by the RC office, focusing on sustainable agricultural development, health, climate action, disaster risk management, youth, gender and disability inclusion.
• Support the development and updating of databases and other information management activities.
• Support the UNCT and UN RCO in achieving their annual monitoring and reporting requirements, through the UNINFO platform.
• Attend relevant capacity development initiatives, training, and meetings, and provide briefing materials.
• Support any additional tasks undertaken by the RCO on a needs basis.

Requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
