ECE EHLM Internship

This internship is located in the Energy, Housing and Land Management Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva, Switzerland. The intern will assist in organizing meetings, conducting research and data analysis, drafting studies and articles, and supporting outreach efforts related to sustainable energy development and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the organisation and servicing of intergovernmental and expert meetings in areas covered by the Division including energy for sustainable development and just energy transition pathways.
• Conduct research, data analysis, draft studies and short articles, and contribute to social media campaigns and outreach efforts.
• Assist the secretariat and experts in data collection and analysis, including web search and preparation of documentation.
• Carry out other tasks such as meeting support, drafting reports, and updating UNECE databases.

Requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
• A field of study closely related to the internship is required, such as energy, sustainable development, economics, international relations or equivalent.
• Applicants must provide an official certificate at a later stage.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
