DRS Intern

This internship is located within the Disaster Risk Reduction Section (DRS) of the Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division of ESCAP. The intern will contribute to analysis on socio-economic impacts of disasters, assist in organizing international conferences and meetings, and carry out other ad hoc tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the quantitative and qualitative analysis on the socio-economic impacts of disasters.
• Assist in organizing international conferences and meetings.
• Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required by the Section and the Division.

Requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
• No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
