The consultant will prepare agenda and presentation materials for workshops, deliver country-specific knowledge products under the CRISP initiative, and support national decision-making by providing evidence-based assessments of climate-related vulnerabilities and social protection system performance in Thailand. The role includes supporting workshops and consultations to strengthen climate-responsive social protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare agenda and presentation materials for the workshop and report of the meeting within 5 days of its conclusion.
  • Deliver a coherent set of country-specific knowledge products for Thailand under the CRISP initiative providing evidence-based assessment of climate-related vulnerabilities and social protection system performance.
  • Support preparation and delivery of a validation workshop to share tentative findings and launch the final report.
  • Support engagement of Thailand in the regional CRISP partner’s workshop.
  • Conduct the CRISP country assessment for Thailand including preparation of a country mapping study to promote institutional capacity, support social protection measures, strengthen evidence base, and identify financing avenues.
  • Support a 2-day national workshop on climate resilient and inclusive social protection to share findings and build capacity.
  • Support a 1-day national consultation to launch the CRISP country mapping in Thailand and identify next steps.
  • Prepare country assessment guided by a conceptual framework addressing climate context, social protection provision, integration analysis, and country pathways.
  • Support delivery of workshops and consultations through presentations and preparing reports.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in economics, social development, social administration, labour studies or other related fields, or an equivalent 5-years work experience in social protection, development or other related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in research, data analysis, and coordination is required.
  • Proven professional experience in social protection.
  • Proven experience working with government counterparts is required, preferably in Thailand or similar country contexts.
  • Familiarity with the social protection system in Thailand, including policies, programmes, and institutional arrangements, is highly desirable.
  • Experience conducting analytical or policy-oriented studies of a similar nature and supporting stakeholder consultations, workshops, and validation processes.
  • Excellent speaking and drafting skills in English.
  • Speaking and drafting skills in Thai are desirable.
