Consultant on Revising Beta version of GETSI Tunisia

The consultant will revise the beta version of GETSI Tunisia by adjusting sectoral and geographical coverage and updating the baseline scenario with latest projections. The role involves recalibrating the model, testing its functionality, and providing necessary files for model upload.

Responsibilities

• Assist ESCWA’s team in revising the global database used for the beta version of GETSI Tunisia by adjusting the geographical and sectoral aggregation to reflect the comments and recommendations received from the Tunisian Ministry of Commerce and Export Development.
• Recalibrate GETSI Tunisia using the revised global database, including the updated interlinked Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs), and incorporate the latest available projections for key exogenous variables.
• Test the model’s functionality and performance through the implementation of selected simulations and the validation of the results.
• Provide any additional files that may be required for uploading the model on GAMS-MIRO.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in applied economics or related area is required.
• A PhD in applied economics or related area is desirable.
• All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree.
• Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and applying dynamic global CGE models to trade analysis is required.
• Knowledge of major Global CGE models (MIRAGE or LINKAGES) is required.
• Strong experience in coding and solving optimization models using GAMS is required.
