See your match score & applyThe Environment and Development Division seeks an intern for 4-6 months to support communications and outreach related to environmental analytics and urban climate resilience content. The intern will produce visual and digital content, draft outreach materials, and organize photo and knowledge assets for communications initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Produce on-brand visual products, including quote cards, slide decks and report layouts (such as photo-rich formats), from supplied content and brand configurations (30%).
- Produce short video clips (for example 30-60 seconds) and social-media content from project activities, applying inclusive (GEDSI) messaging (30%).
- Organise and maintain photo and knowledge assets, and quality-assure image descriptions, captions and accessibility outputs (subtitles/VTT) (20%).
- Support outreach analytics monitoring and updates to project webpages and documentation under supervision (20%).
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) related to communications, digital media, graphic or information design, journalism, marketing, or related disciplines; or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent) related to communications, digital media, graphic or information design, journalism, marketing, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency with design and productivity tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Canva, or the Adobe suite) is required.
- A portfolio demonstrating graphic design, short-form video, or digital content creation is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with social-media content, basic analytics, and web updating is desirable.
- An eye for brand consistency, layout and accessibility is essential.
- Affinity with or interest in climate action and sustainable cities is desirable.
- Familiarity with the responsible use of AI tools to improve work quality and efficiency, in line with UN guidelines, is desirable.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the Internship Programme.
- Knowledge of another language used in Asia-Pacific is an asset (e.g. Chinese, Hindi, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai).
