As a TeamUp Begeleider, you will contribute to the mental wellbeing of refugee children aged 6-17 by organizing and facilitating sport, play, and movement activities. You will work flexibly across locations in Noordoost-Nederland, supporting children to manage emotions and build confidence through structured sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate TeamUp sport, play, and movement activities for children and youth aged 6-17 at various locations in Noordoost-Nederland.
  • Serve as a flexible TeamUp begeleider primarily on Tuesdays (Ter Apel), Wednesdays (Zweeloo), Thursdays (Emmen), and occasionally Mondays, typically between 13:30 and 19:00.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as attendance lists and writing evaluations for the teams.
  • Contribute to the quality of TeamUp implementation and ensure sessions meet the needs of the children, working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
  • Monitor and identify concerning behavior among children and refer them for specialized help when necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience organizing and facilitating activities for children aged 6-17 with sports elements; experience working with teenagers is a plus.
  • Education or current study in sports and movement, education, or psychomotor therapy at minimum MBO4 level.
  • Proficiency in Dutch (minimum A2 level) and English sufficient for collaboration; knowledge of additional languages spoken by children in shelters (e.g., Arabic, Farsi, Tigrinya, Turkish) is a plus.
  • Authorization to work in the Netherlands for at least one year.
  • Possession of a driving license and access to a car due to locations being poorly accessible by public transport; travel reimbursement of 32 cents per km.
  • Residence in the region (Drenthe, Groningen, Overijssel) or willingness to relocate; applications from outside the region will not be considered.
