Senior Manager, Transformation Project Management

The Senior Manager, Transformation Project Management is responsible for end-to-end management of complex global transformation initiatives at Save the Children International, ensuring delivery aligns with project lifecycle standards and organizational priorities. The role involves strategic planning, governance support, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across global teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Project Lead to ensure effective project setup including recruitment, governance, and meeting requirements
• Lead comprehensive management of the project ensuring delivery within allocated budget and time using agile and/or waterfall frameworks
• Develop and oversee realistic and committed project plans considering deadlines, dependencies, resources, and costs
• Ensure reference groups are established and used effectively for input from functional SMEs
• Work with Business Analyst to define and agree required analysis and support development of requirements and process maps
• Document and report project controls including risks, issues, and dependencies in line with PMO requirements
• Lead governance process ensuring review and sign off from relevant leaders
• Lead engagement with stakeholders within SCI including senior stakeholders in coordination with Project Lead and Global Change Manager
• Monitor scope definition and implement change control in line with PMO principles
• Implement best practices and procedures in project management and contribute to continuous improvement of Project Lifecycle
• Support delivery of change impact and interventions relating to transformation design, resource impacts, communications, and engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Understanding of a structured Project methodology (e.g. PRINCE2) or accredited Project Management training (APM or PMI)
• Preferable: PRINCE2 (Foundation and/or Practitioner), Scrum Master, Agile PM
• Extensive experience in managing transformation projects for system and non-system change
• Considerable experience in establishing and embedding Agile or Waterfall methodologies to ensure successful project delivery
• Experience working with a standard Project Management Methodology and aligning with a centralised PMO function
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, utilising project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management, and quality assurance
• Strong understanding of scope and change management, ensuring projects adapt seamlessly to evolving requirements and in line with formal governance
• Comprehensive management and influencing skills with significant experience in working with senior-level executives
• Strong team leadership skills with ability to motivate and mobilise individuals globally
• Excellent communication skills in written and oral English, including ability to communicate and present to all levels with cultural awareness
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, fostering innovation and creativity in project solutions
• Ability to effectively prioritise work and communicate priorities within the team
• Demonstrates strong work ethic, initiative, ownership, integrity, and accountability
• Desirable: Non-profit sector knowledge/experience (especially international development projects)
• Desirable: Second language – French, Spanish or Arabic
