See your match score & applyThe Partnership & Awards Officer will work closely with programme colleagues to support implementation partners in achieving objectives in compliance with SCI procedures and donor rules. The role involves managing grant processes, supporting partner capacity development, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements, with frequent travel required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in developing a partner capacity development strategy and plan in collaboration with the country awards and partnership team and humanitarian framework team and partners.
- Maintain close bilateral working relationships with partners, ensuring respect, listening and support, and open channels for discussing issues and constraints.
- Support partners to identify specific support needs related to contract implementation and management.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support as needed.
- Understand and manage the use of the Grant Management System (AMS) and provide quality data.
- Support the office management team in organizing monthly Project Review meetings and follow up on action points, communicating them to the Head of Awards.
- Ensure SCI procedures and donor requirements are respected by programme team and implementing partners.
- Ensure SCI grant management procedures are known, understood and respected by the programme team.
- Facilitate meetings with complex stakeholder groups such as Kick off meetings and annual partnership evaluation meetings.
- Coordinate the closeout process of office grants.
- Conduct mapping exercises to identify potential partners across sectors.
- Lead partnership capacity assessments in coordination with operations director and other staff.
- Lead analysis and information gathering for calls for proposals.
- Assist or lead independent and external studies, research and evaluations.
- Manage end-to-end contracting process with partners.
- Organize support meetings with partner focal points as needed and contribute to partnership opening and closing meetings.
- Ensure reports and advances to partners are properly justified, prepared and sent to SCI office on time with supporting documents.
- Facilitate planning and execution of internal and external financial and programmatic monitoring visits in coordination with the office finance officer and project managers.
- Participate in mid-term and final partnership effectiveness evaluation sessions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies, organizational development or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or development sector with partners, preferably in an international NGO, UN operational agency or equivalent.
- Strong motivation, initiative and willingness to contribute to an innovative programme.
- Significant experience in partnership development and management for donors/UN/NGO.
- Knowledge of the region and donor requirements is preferable.
- Extensive experience in partner capacity development roles.
- Proven experience working with national and local structures and partners is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of programmes related to forced displacement and regional experience is an asset.
- Fluency in French and English (written and oral).
- Strong facilitation and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, strong report writing and presentation skills, and ability to influence diplomatically and tactfully.
- Team spirit and readiness for frequent travel to multiple project offices.
- Knowledge of Awards monitoring procedures and ability to implement, challenge or escalate identified issues.
- Good knowledge of implementing measures to ensure compliance with institutional donor rules (BHA, ECHO, GAC, etc.).
