Head of Programme Funding, Asia

Lead strategic programme funding efforts across Asia, aligning with country strategic plans and advancing Save the Children's Global Strategy. Act as primary business partner for implementing offices, develop regional funding strategy, oversee risk monitoring, and foster donor and partner relationships to secure funding growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead Asia’s strategic programme funding efforts across all market channels, ensuring alignment with Country Strategic Plans and fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Act as primary point of contact and business partner for all Implementing Country Offices in Asia on programme funding matters, fundraising protocol support, multi-country business development, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and drive Asia region’s Programme Funding Strategy aligned to the Global Funding Framework and Global Strategy, creating impactful partnerships with donors, partners, and civil society stakeholders.
• Oversee support and risk monitoring of the region’s programme funding portfolio, ensuring risks are identified, reported, and managed effectively.
• Lead Communities of Practice within Asia on programme funding to share best practices, innovation, and learnings to improve business development and donor partnership practices.
• Drive effective cross-departmental coordination within the global Programme Funding function and with other departments and members across the global movement.
• Collaborate with other regional Heads of Programme Funding to ensure alignment and mutual reinforcement of regional funding strategies and activities.

Requirements

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience in international development, business administration, economics, marketing, or a related field.
• Significant programme funding experience in Asia, developing and implementing programme funding strategies aligned with organisational objectives in the international development and humanitarian sector.
• Extensive experience managing programme funding donor relationships and engagement to drive funding growth across multiple channels.
• Considerable experience overseeing risk management related to programme funding portfolios, with proven track record of identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks.
• Demonstrable experience leading high-impact fundraising and programme funding strategies within an international context.
• Excellent knowledge of international funding landscapes, including institutional donors, multilateral organisations, and corporate funding streams.
• Proficient experience facilitating cross-departmental and cross-regional coordination for programme funding activities.
• Ability to lead strategic programme funding efforts, develop comprehensive funding strategies, and foster collaboration across departments and regions.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex ideas and strategies to diverse stakeholders.
• Proven track record building and maintaining effective relationships with donors, partners, civil society stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, funding trends, and forecasts to inform strategies.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 20%.
• Commitment to continuous professional development to stay updated with latest trends in ODA markets, programme funding and business development.
• Desirable: Experience working in a country or regional office of SCI/A or equivalent.
• Desirable: Experience fostering and leading Communities of Practice within a region for knowledge sharing and best practice development.
• Desirable: Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to programme funding in the international non-profit sector.
• Desirable: Professional certification or training in international development, programme management, programme funding or relationships management.
• Desirable: Accredited membership of relevant professional bodies.
• Desirable: Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and understanding cultural differences to build stronger global partnerships.
