The Field Manager is responsible for overseeing overall program operations in Hirshabelle, ensuring programs are delivered on time and on budget, meeting key performance indicators, and timely reporting to donors. The role ensures quality programme implementation in both development and humanitarian sectors within SCI's quality framework, strategies, and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall program operations in Hirshabelle ensuring programs are delivered on time and on budget
  • Ensure key performance indicators are met and reporting to donors is timely
  • Responsible and accountable for Save the Children's quality programme implementation in development and humanitarian sectors within SCI quality framework, strategies, and policies

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant academic discipline
  • Minimum Five years practical experience managing a large programme in a complex emergency context, with a particular focus on health, livelihoods, child protection, education, nutrition, or food security, in a large international non-governmental organisation or other international relief/development body
  • Experience of managing the programme cycle, including assessments, project design, proposal and report writing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong capacity to coordinate, influence and support diversified stakeholders including government authority, community leaders, implementing similar programmes and donors where relevant
  • Highly developed research, analytical, monitoring and evaluation, and report-writing abilities
  • Sound financial management skills, particularly in budgeting and reporting
  • Practical knowledge of current thematic issues and debates in developing countries, and of the major institutional donors such as USAID, BHA, GPE, UN, ECHO, EC, FCDO, SIDA, FFO, AfDB, WB, SIDA, DANIDA
