See your match score & applyThe Local Goods Coordinator is responsible for implementing a food goods management system and overseeing custody, accounting, and reporting of locally procured goods within the Nutrir para Aprender project. The role includes analyzing local procurement needs for 245 schools, conducting market and supplier assessments, and proactively seeking local fruit and vegetable suppliers, while aggressively implementing anti-fraud measures.
Responsibilities
- Implement a food goods management system and oversee custody, accounting, and reporting of locally procured goods within the Nutrir para Aprender project.
- Analyze local procurement needs for each of the 245 schools participating in the project and provide purchase estimates.
- Conduct a comprehensive market and supplier assessment at the district level.
- Proactively seek potential local suppliers of fruits and vegetables.
- Aggressively implement anti-fraud measures within the project.
- Work outside normal job profile and adjust working hours in case of severe humanitarian emergencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business Management, Logistics or related field.
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience in a technical field role.
- Practical experience in managing the purchase, transport, and storage of perishable fruits and vegetables.
- Strong commitment to combating fraud and mismanagement.
- Ability to intervene in crisis management or problem resolution if necessary.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and guide.
- Ability to work under pressure and availability to work flexible hours in case of serious emergencies.
- Willingness and availability to travel frequently.
- Intermediate written and oral communication skills in English are an advantage but not required.
- Ability to speak the local language and interact directly with the target group is an advantage.
- Ensure additional quality standards to support high-quality implementation according to capacity, skills, and knowledge, acting as an ambassador of program excellence within Save the Children.
