Consultancy Needed - Leveling Book Clean (Sponsorship)

Save the Children Indonesia seeks a consultancy to produce three leveled books to support literacy strengthening in Sponsorship Program schools in Sumba Barat and Sumba Tengah. The consultancy involves research, content production, legal ISBN registration, and physical printing of books tailored to local context and child reading levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cultural research on Sumba Barat and Sumba Tengah for content development.
• Write manuscripts, create illustrations, and edit leveled reading materials.
• Perform readability testing with sample students in target regions.
• Register three book titles with National Library to obtain official ISBN numbers.
• Print physical books according to technical specifications and agreed print runs.
• Ensure books reflect local context, child experiences, inclusion, and psychosocial wellbeing.
• Deliver three master content titles (A, B, C) suitable for early, beginning, and intermediate readers.

Requirements

• Open bidding for business entities or creative individual/team groups.
• Business entities must have valid Business Identification Number (NIB) with relevant Indonesian Standard Business Classification (KBLI) in publishing, design, or creative services.
• Must have valid Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and proof of last year's tax compliance.
• Submit company establishment deed and amendments if any.
• Creative teams must appoint a team leader with valid ID and NPWP.
• Submit power of attorney or internal partnership agreement signed by all team members.
• Submit collective portfolio proving experience in child-friendly book or educational media content creation (writing/illustration/editing).
• Submit statement of full and permanent copyright transfer to Save the Children Indonesia on stamp duty.
• Submit detailed work plan including research strategy and field testing methodology for Sumba Barat and Sumba Tengah.
• Books must be leveled into three titles (A, B, C) with specific reading levels and physical specifications.
• Books must be registered with National Library for ISBN under Save the Children Indonesia's name.
• Books must be printed in agreed quantities for 72 primary schools and 10 reading parks.
• Copyright and intellectual property rights fully transferred to Save the Children Indonesia with no royalties payable to vendor.
