See your match score & applyThe SRH Officer provides woreda level coordination for planning, implementation and monitoring of the SRH Alliance programme in Amhara, Ethiopia. The role supports delivery of interventions to improve SRH services, expand access to information, promote positive social norm change, and strengthen community engagement and advocacy, integrating gender equality, disability inclusion, climate and conflict sensitivity, and survivor-centred approaches.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the implementation of SRH, SGBV, and gender equality project activities.
- Provide technical assistance, mentoring, and capacity building to partners, service providers, and community structures.
- Strengthen community engagement and promote participation of women, youth, and people with disabilities.
- Facilitate collaboration with government institutions, CSOs, community groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Support integration of survivor-centered, child-friendly, gender-transformative, and rights-based approaches across project interventions.
- Monitor project performance, support data quality and reporting, and document lessons learned and best practices.
- Participate in coordination forums, technical working groups, and referral mechanisms to enhance service delivery and accountability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Reproductive Health, Nursing, Sociology, Social work or related social science field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in SRH and SGBV sectors with good understanding of regional and local contexts.
- In-depth knowledge of GBV, SRH, gender equality, girls' rights, and their relevance in protection.
- Good knowledge and understanding of development and humanitarian principles and established international child protection and CP/GBV and SRHR policies, strategies, programs and priorities, and NGO Code of Conduct.
- Knowledge and experience of SRH strategies/policy frameworks, teenage pregnancy reduction roadmap, costed roadmap to end child marriage, FGM/C, and SGBV.
- Experience in planning, budget management, and delivering trainings.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Regional Languages is essential.
- Understands and puts into practice responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct, ensuring concerns are reported and managed appropriately.
- Ensures staff are properly inducted on safeguarding and GEI policies.
- Ensures Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are embedded in day-to-day work.
- Ensures Plan Ethiopia contributes to global efforts on safeguarding and GEI including reporting and data submission.
