This position coordinates administrative processes and procedures of the Program Unit or program department in Central Offices, ensuring compliance with budget, strategy, and indicators through projects, as well as internal norms and policies. The role involves managing sponsorship communications, training volunteers, community engagement, and supporting programmatic actions related to child sponsorship and protection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage programmable and non-programmable Sponsorship Communications, fulfilling the production calendar of SCUs (updating profiles of sponsored children and families) in coordination with community links/volunteers.
  • Train volunteers, leaders, and community links on sponsorship policies, procedures, child safeguarding standards, gender, and other topics according to the annual volunteer strengthening plan of the Program Unit.
  • Conduct community assemblies for accountability and strengthening families on sponsorship processes, motivating family participation in Plan projects.
  • Ensure production of sponsorship documents with quality and within established times, complying with Plan commitments as a strategy for sponsor retention.
  • Report and visit cases of sponsored children who do not attend school or have health problems, record reports in Plan's registration systems and follow up with families.
  • Support visits to families and communities by Sponsor Parents and donors; coordinate visits to all sponsored children at least once a year with support from volunteers/links.
  • Coordinate with the lead Facilitator visits to children, adolescents, and families who do not wish to continue participating in Sponsorship.
  • Support required programmatic actions such as scholarship projects, special services, and appreciation gifts.
  • Report child protection concerns or incidents to the focal point of Protection of the Program Unit and/or Country Office.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of studies in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Education or other relevant area for the position.
  • At least 1 year of experience in community organization and development and sponsorship processes.
  • Community experience working with children, youth, and adolescents.
  • Basic knowledge of planning, implementation, and evaluation of social development programs and projects.
  • Knowledge of human rights with emphasis on children's rights.
  • Ability to use basic computer packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet).
  • Must have the skill to drive a 4x4 mechanical vehicle and possess a valid license.
  • Ability to organize groups and use interactive techniques and tools to promote participation of sponsored families.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to generate quality reports.
  • Empathy with gender equality, multiculturalism, child safeguarding, and rights-based approach.
  • Social and human sensitivity.
  • Respect for diversity (cultural, ethnic, gender, among others).
  • Must present a clearance certificate from the National Registry of Sexual Offenders of the Public Ministry.
