This position coordinates administrative processes and sponsorship communications within the Program Unit, ensuring compliance with budget, strategy, and internal policies. The role involves community engagement, volunteer training, and supporting programmatic actions related to child sponsorship and protection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled sponsorship communications, ensuring timely production of sponsored child and family profiles in coordination with community links and volunteers.
  • Train volunteers, leaders, and community links on sponsorship policies, procedures, child safeguarding standards, gender, and other relevant topics according to the annual volunteer strengthening plan.
  • Conduct community assemblies for accountability and strengthening families on sponsorship processes, encouraging family participation in Plan projects.
  • Ensure quality and timely production of sponsorship documents as a strategy for sponsor retention.
  • Report and visit sponsored children who do not attend school or have health issues, record reports in Plan's registration systems, and follow up with families.
  • Support visits to families and communities by sponsors and donors, coordinating annual visits to all sponsored children with volunteer support.
  • Coordinate with the lead facilitator visits to children, adolescents, and families who do not wish to continue participating in sponsorship.
  • Support required programmatic actions such as scholarship projects, special services, and appreciation gifts.
  • Report child protection concerns or incidents to the Program Unit and/or Country Office focal points.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of studies in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Education or other relevant area for the position.
  • At least 1 year of experience in community organization and sponsorship processes.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and communities.
  • Basic knowledge of planning, implementation, and evaluation of social development programs and projects.
  • Knowledge of human rights with emphasis on children's rights.
  • Proficiency in basic computer packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet).
  • Must have the ability to drive a 4x4 mechanical vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to speak the local language.
  • Skills in organizing groups and using interactive techniques to promote participation of sponsored families.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to produce quality reports.
  • Empathy with gender equality, multiculturalism, child safeguarding, and rights-based approaches.
  • Social and human sensitivity.
  • Respect for diversity (cultural, ethnic, gender, etc.).
  • Must present a clearance certificate from the National Registry of Sexual Offenders of the Public Ministry.
