Responsible for the coordination, management, and successful implementation of the National Non-Formal Education Program project. Acts as the main point of reference for the executing partner organization, facilitators, and Monitoring and Evaluation team within the project framework. Ensures program integration, monitoring, and supervision of field activities related to project implementation and follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, manage, and successfully implement the National Non-Formal Education Program project.
  • Serve as the main point of reference for the executing partner organization, facilitators, and Monitoring and Evaluation team within the project framework.
  • Ensure program integration by monitoring and supervising field activities related to project implementation and follow-up.
  • Ensure achievement of objectives and results, guaranteeing that project actions develop within the Child-Centered Community Development strategy.
  • Coordinate with the project management and implementing team contracted by the partner.
  • Advise on the implementation of programmatic plans established in the project proposal in coordination with the UP and Generation with Opportunities program coordinator.
  • Support coordination with government and non-government institutions at departmental and municipal levels in close coordination with the executing partner organization, UP management, and Generation with Opportunities program coordinator.
  • Monitor timely execution of the project budget.
  • Accountability to the Alta Verapaz department manager.
  • Manage assigned fixed assets (equipment, furniture, vehicle, etc.).
  • Support national program coordinations in implementing planned actions to ensure achievement of agreed goals and results.
  • Systematically monitor progress in the implementation by the project implementing partner and its contribution to national goals.
  • Advise on budget execution control and management.
  • Support and advise the establishment of strategic alliances between Plan International, partner organizations, governments, and local actors to facilitate project progress.
  • Review and validate programmatic and budget reports shared with the Alta Verapaz department management.
  • Systematize good practices, lessons learned, promote research, and share project information in coordination with management, program advisors, and program coordinators.
  • Promote pleasant work environments through proactive participation and professional commitment.
  • Facilitate and/or promote integration and teamwork spaces with UP staff and the partner organization.
  • Provide feedback on the performance of the partner organization implementing the project at the UP level.
  • Monitor and supervise operational actions at departmental, municipal, and community levels by the implementing partner in project execution.
  • Review quarterly supervision reports of visits to project activities.
  • Review monthly reports and schedules.
  • Follow up on budget execution in SAP.
  • Attend meetings and training convened by UP and/or CO for project monitoring.
  • Manage communication with the donor and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit financial and narrative reports required by the funder.

Requirements

  • Graduated at university level with a degree in Pedagogy, Educational Administration, or related social sciences.
  • Minimum proven experience of 5 years in the implementation and/or evaluation of education programs and projects, mainly Alternative Education.
  • Proven experience in establishing strategic alliances and relationships with partners and programmatically related organizations.
  • Experience in financial resource administration, budget preparation and monitoring (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports, Terms of Reference and others.
  • High sensitivity and commitment to work with young people, youth organizations, and other civil society organizations.
  • Solid knowledge of planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects related to education, especially non-formal education.
  • Extensive experience applying human rights, equality, and youth approaches.
  • Strong knowledge in education, school reintegration, and alternative education programs.
  • Knowledge and management of project cycle and necessary monitoring and follow-up tools.
  • Knowledge of educational protocols.
  • High level of organization, initiative, and proactivity.
  • Excellent written communication, synthesis, and drafting skills.
  • Discretion in handling information and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Experience in financial report preparation.
  • Knowledge and management of spreadsheets, databases, multimedia presentations, and others.
  • Preparation of schedules and work plans.
  • Ability to coordinate and develop team activities.
  • Good interpersonal relations and teamwork skills.
  • Strategic thinking and negotiation skills to establish strategic alliances.
  • Availability to travel to project coverage departments: Alta Verapaz, Quiché, Baja Verapaz, Jalapa, and Guatemala City.
  • Knowledge of administrative and financial processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Effective and assertive communication skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Numerical ability, data analysis and interpretation, and ability to write high-quality technical reports.
  • Driving 4-wheel vehicles with a valid license.
  • Knowledge of equality, inclusion, and youth rights approaches.
  • Respect for diversity (cultural, ethnic, among others).
