Finance Manager Cameroon

The Finance Manager will oversee a dynamic finance team, provide strategic financial leadership, and ensure robust financial risk management across all programmes in a complex and high-risk operating environment in Cameroon. The role involves managing financial sustainability, compliance, and accountability to support NRC's humanitarian mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of all Finance related policies, procedures, strategies, and initiatives in coordination with the Finance team in country and area offices to ensure success, consistency, and compliance.
• Line management responsibility for direct reporting staff including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, staff induction and development, and mentorship of national staff.
• Develop and maintain country financial documents, procedures, guidance, and tools, including strategy, ensuring consistency across the country programme and in line with organisational standards.
• Maintain the country’s overall budget control and monitor cash flows.
• Ensure budgeting, accounting, year-end procedures, and other financial processes adhere to Financial Handbook, NRC policies, and donor and auditor requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including fraud, diversion, and misuse of funds.
• Train and develop NRC staff and partners’ capacity on financial and budgeting responsibilities.
• Ensure strong implementation of the Anti-Corruption Policy, including prevention, detection, reporting mechanisms, and follow-up on suspected cases.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a senior finance role with managerial responsibility in a humanitarian/recovery context.
• Working proficiency in French and English, both written and verbal.
• Previous experience within the region and/or area of operations is preferable.
• Experience in risk management with implementing partners.
• Experience in remote management.
