See your match score & applyThe Education Technical Assistant will support the effective implementation of the Education program activities in Niger, promoting equitable access to quality education for children and youth. The role involves assisting in daily project implementation, organizing training and awareness workshops, and collaborating with community leaders and partners.
Responsibilities
- Work in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines.
- Assist in project implementation according to the Work Plan.
- Write activity progress reports upon supervisor or management request.
- Ensure proper archiving of project-related documents.
- Encourage and propose improvements to the project.
- Assist in integrating the Education program with other NRC core competencies.
- Actively participate in capacity building of beneficiaries.
- Actively participate in data collection for feasibility studies, rapid and sectoral evaluations.
- Assist the Education Officer in preparing and organizing various training and awareness workshops on education and training.
- Participate in participatory vulnerability analysis with community leaders.
- Cross-check beneficiary lists proposed by community leaders/investigators.
- Organize close follow-ups (coaching) of beneficiaries in their activities.
- Requisition necessary materials for training and surveys.
- Work closely and respectfully with NRC partner staff.
- Ensure integration of gender, inclusion and protection in education activities.
Requirements
- Minimum university studies Bac+3 in Social Sciences, Education, Sociology or equivalent fields.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience as a Project Assistant in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Minimum 2 years prior professional experience supporting communities/community mobilization in education/training of youth.
- Proven results in responsibilities related to the position.
- Fluent in French, both spoken and written.
- English is an asset.
- Perfect knowledge of local languages spoken in the Tahoua region.
- Experience working with rural communities.
- Experience training communities and producing leaflets in local languages spoken in the Maradi region.
- Ability to work with local partners and government.
- Ability to understand cross-cutting issues such as gender, protection, and environment.
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype and internet.
- Ability to speak in front of diverse audiences.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to work within a multicultural organization with members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Proactive and initiative-taking.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good team spirit.
- Ability to manage a challenging security environment and heavy workload.
