The Staff Officer is responsible for identifying, defining, optimizing, and coordinating enterprise business processes related to operational planning and execution of logistic support for NATO exercises and operations. The role supports the development and management of logistics information management systems and policies across Logistic, Medical, and Military Engineering functional areas within Allied Command Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, define, optimise and coordinate the enterprise business processes related to the operational planning and execution of logistic support to the NATO exercises and operations during peacetime, crisis and conflict.
  • Assist the Officer of Primary Responsibility (OPR) in coordination of operational requirements development for information systems supporting ACO Logistic, Medical and Military Engineers stakeholders roles in Enablement.
  • Assist the OPR in coordination of all general Logistics Information Management (LIM) Function including monitoring/analyzing LIM responsibilities across Logistic, Medical and Military Engineering functional areas using LOGFAS and MAVEN Smart System.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance for NATO Information systems for LIM.
  • Develop policies, tools, and processes in support of information systems supporting ACO Logistic, Medical and Military Engineering functional areas.
  • Direct and coordinate development of ACO Procedure and planning guidance for LIM.
  • Identify LIM policy and material requirements and implement solutions.
  • Act as Operational Sponsor for development, use, and management of NATO LIMs.
  • Provide LIM functional advice and support to NATO and national planning.
  • Support Boards, Working Groups, Committees, Training and Exercises.
  • Knowledge Management.
  • Assist the OPR in conducting extra duties related to Information Management across Logistic, Medical and Military Engineering functional areas including NATO Digital Enterprise Transformation, Next Generation Modelling & Simulation, NATO 2030 RSN Visualization System project, and Federated Mission Networking/Logistic sub-syndicate.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing enterprise level logistics projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing logistics policy and processes.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing enterprise level IM projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing IM policy and processes.
  • University Degree in library, information science, management information systems, computer science or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
  • English language proficiency at SLP 3333 (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
  • Experience in leading teams (desirable).
  • Previous experience in serving at a NATO (desirable).
  • Cognisant of the NATO 2030 Initiative and relevant Allied and ACO efforts (desirable).
  • Knowledge of capability delivery models including MB and NSIP mechanisms (desirable).
  • Completion of NATO Logistics Introductory Course (NLIC) or equivalent (desirable).
  • Completion of Logistic Functional Area Services (LOGFAS) System Administrator and Manager or equivalent (desirable).
  • Completion of NATO Logistics Operational Planning Course (NLOPC) or equivalent (desirable).
  • Completion of NATO Logistics Operations Course (NLOC) or equivalent (desirable).
