See your match score & applyThe International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN) conducts external performance audits of NATO bodies and the NATO Security Investment Programme. The incumbent assists as a team member or lead auditor for performance audits, requiring extensive travel within NATO member countries.
Responsibilities
- Assist Primary Auditors as a team member for performance audits of NATO bodies as assigned by the Board, in accordance with the auditing standards adopted by the Board.
- Act as lead auditor for less complicated performance audits when required.
- If assigned to NSIP audits, act as team member on audits of NSIP project expenditure.
- Ensure continuous professional development of audit skills as well as knowledge of NATO, NATO entities and activities and auditing practices at other International Organisations.
- Prepare and present clear, convincing and timely audit reports and/or findings in accordance with the auditing standards adopted by the Board.
- Communicate reports and results with the Board, other auditors and auditees.
- Control the quality, quantity and relevance of data input.
- Contribute to the maintenance of knowledge and information sharing within the Board.
- Ensure an efficient flow of information within the audit team.
- Perform any other duty as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a university degree or equivalent level of qualification.
- Have at least 4 years’ relevant performance audit experience.
- Have knowledge of the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) promulgated by the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
- Possess knowledge of current performance auditing techniques including audit software.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages (English/French): V (“Advanced”) in one and I (“Beginner”) in the other.
- Be able to travel extensively (approximately half the working year) throughout NATO member countries and be prepared to work outside of normal office hours, if required.
- Experience using data analytics in performance audit is considered an advantage.
- Experience or knowledge of project management methodology and practice, and possessing a relevant certification or qualification, such as PRINCE2, is considered an advantage.
- Prior performance audit work experience with, or be seconded from, a national Supreme Audit Institution is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of the auditing standards promulgated by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) is considered an advantage.
