The Driver (Yard Supervisor) is responsible for performing driving duties, especially coaches and passenger transport tasks, vehicle maintenance checks, fleet database updates, and vehicle compound upkeep at Joint Force Command Brunssum. The role supports transportation services for personnel and VVIPs, ensuring vehicle safety and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform driving duties of all types of vehicles especially coach and passenger transport tasks.
  • Perform all before use, during use and after use vehicle checks in accordance with current manufacturers maintenance schedules or local orders.
  • Update the vehicle fleet database.
  • Maintain the vehicle running records.
  • Report on vehicle malfunctions and defects.
  • Execute 1st Line maintenance and checking of vehicles, for safety and road worthiness, as per standing orders.
  • Initiate fault reporting of vehicles and delivering/collecting them to/from the authorised repairer.
  • Ensure cleanliness of vehicles prior, during and after task.
  • Ensure vehicle husbandry and general upkeep and cleanliness of vehicle compound.
  • Provide the LWR Monthly Time Cards.

Requirements

  • Good English language skills, both oral and written.
  • Good Dutch language skills, both oral and written.
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience as a driver and in particular conveying passengers within coaches/buses.
  • Valid driver's license and experience driving of all types of vehicles B, BE, C, CE, D1, D, DE.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Tool suite and collaborative IT software.
  • Proficient in maintaining a fleet management database system to ensure accountability (status) of vehicles and staff (desirable).
  • Experience working within a military environment and multinational environment (desirable).
  • Forklift truck certification (desirable).
  • Dangerous Goods (DG) license (ADR) or DG awareness training (desirable).
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements including Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants (POL) (desirable).
  • Basic German language skills (desirable).
