See your match score & applyThe Communications Manager leads the communication strategy for the SHAPE Static Command Facilities Transformation Programme, ensuring effective internal and external engagement. This role involves crafting messaging, supporting senior briefings, and representing the Programme Office for the new Supreme Headquarters across NATO and host nations.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute proactive outreach and internal communications strategy for the SHAPE Static Command Facilities Transformation programme.
- Develop the SHAPE SCF Communication Plan autonomously and coordinate with SHAPE J10 STRATCOM.
- Continuously assess the Communication Plan and recommend corrective actions to senior managers.
- Prepare strategic level SHAPE POSH briefings concerning the SCF programme and transition initiatives.
- Develop, implement and maintain an Information Campaign coordinating POSH Programme and Project Managers with external stakeholders and Host Nations.
- Support POSH in dialogue with SCF Programme stakeholders to maintain oversight of interdependencies.
- Undertake internal communication activities to enhance staff awareness of HQ mission and priorities.
- Maintain POSH presence within SHAPE and distribute information in a controlled manner.
- Monitor relevant open-source media for NATO and SCF Programme reporting and advise senior officers accordingly.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of previous experience in Public Affairs as communication specialist.
- Previous experience in developing communication strategies and communication plans and initiatives engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication Manager Course or similar ones.
- University Degree in business administration, public administration or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.

- French – SLP 2222 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
- Previous experience in a military headquarters or international/government organization is desirable.
- Previous experience in co-operation with NATO/National Construction Agencies and Architecture/Engineering Consultants is desirable.
- PRINCE 2 or any other related Project Management instrument experience or certification is desirable.
- Completion of NATO Communications & Information Activities (Comm&IA) Planner Course (STC-ST-36954) is desirable.
